As Managing Director of CMG, Niall Donaghy is at the helm of Ireland’s largest loss assessing firm. He has extensive experience in residential and commercial losses and specific expertise in complex claims management, in particular where business interruption, additional expenditure and increased cost of working have been central to claims.
Niall first became a proprietor of a loss assessing firm in the UK in 2009 before acquiring Mid-West Loss Assessors in Ireland in 2016. Three years later in 2019, he acquired Cleary’s Loss Assessors & Insurance in Galway and Dublin, and King Loss Assessors in Northern Ireland under the CMG banner, bringing together more than 85 years of loss assessing experience, capabilities and knowledge. As a result, CMG customers now enjoy unmatched level of customer responsiveness throughout the island of Ireland, particularly in emergency response situations.
Niall is a Certified Insurance Practitioner and is currently undertaking an Advanced Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Insurance. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying, a B.Sc. in Construction Management and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with Chartership of the SCSI pending. He holds membership with the Insurance Institute of Ireland, the Chartered Institute of Insurance, the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters, the Chartered National Association of Public Loss Adjusters and the Society of Chartered Surveyors.

John Wilson is a Senior Claims Manager with CMG and is responsible for major claims and complex losses. With almost 15 years’ experience in loss assessing, John has managed many different types of major commercial losses of up to €10million in Ireland. He possesses a deep knowledge of all aspects of insurance and its application to claims of varying complexity, alongside specialist expertise in policy and applying it to achieve the maximum claim settlement possible. He is also a qualified quantity surveyor with building acumen that is invaluable to larger building claims.
John holds a BSc in Construction Economics & Management from the Limerick Institute of Technology and a Certificate of Insurance from the Insurance Institute of Ireland. He is also a member of the Insurance Institute of Ireland.
John possesses the depth of knowledge and experience across many different types of commercial and residential losses to bring claims to as quick a resolution as possible while achieving the best settlement under the terms of the policy.
Esther joined the company in April 1990 and over the past 30 years has been directly involved in the company’s development and growth. She is responsible for planning and formulating strategy, financial administration and budgeting, claims process management, HR coaching & compliance, marketing planning, reporting and analysis.
Esther has been a driving force behind the change implementation, quality standards and continuous improvement. She helped to establish the company’s five additional offices across Ireland, the hiring and training of staff and upgrading systems and connectivity. She was also directly involved in the company’s digitalisation and the introduction of cloud-based applications, data storage and telecommunications.
Today Esther oversees operations for three companies under CMG. Her experience, flexibility and willingness to embrace technology and deliver a premier standard of service is her speciality. Esther holds a Diploma in Management and Employee Relations from the National College of Ireland and is a Member of the Insurance Institute of Ireland.
Sarah joined CMG in June 2022 in the role of Financial Controller. She brings extensive experience in financial and cost control At CMG, Sarah maintains all financial aspects of the company, providing hands-on management for day-to-day financial matters and leadership in accounting strategy.
Sarah has over 10 years of experience working in a similar role within an accounting firm, she is a Certified Account Technician (CAT) with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), and is registered with CPA Ireland, Sarah is currently undergoing her professional exams to become a fully Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Conor joined CMG in July 2020 as Software Development and IT Manager. He is responsible for the Group’s IT systems and for the development of processes and apps that reduce administration requirements and enhance the team’s remote working capacity. Conor previously worked with Uber in Limerick as a Project Analyst where he managed process development and project rollouts. With a Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma and specialist experience in report building, analytics, product development and process management, Conor is focused on IT innovations that help free-up CMG’s claims and customer focused staff and enhance their service capabilities. Conor holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Games Development from University of Limerick and a Masters in Media Studies from Mary Immaculate College.
Sarah joined CMG in 2021 as Marketing Executive. She is a digital marketing specialist who brings a fresh approach to online branding and communication. She is responsible for social media marketing, email campaigns, website management and Google Ads campaigns. Sarah is responsible for all of CMG’s graphic design and print marketing and is responsible for developing campaigns and marketing innovations that boost awareness of the CMG brand and meaningful customer engagement. In her marketing role, Sarah hopes to support CMG’s role as an industry leader through a diverse and interactive online marketing program that enhances the customer experience with deeper support, education and advice.
Sarah graduated from Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) in 2018 with a Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Digital Marketing and is currently studying for an MSc in Digital Marketing.
Linda has more than 15 years’ experience in claim management and specialises in domestic and commercial property claims. She manages property claims that arise from fire, flood and storm events, water leaks, accidental damage, impact damage and chimney fires, and also offers significant expertise in farm policy wording and managing farm claims. She manages all aspects of processing and settling insurance claims on behalf of her clients and unwaveringly puts her clients first to provide them with the utmost peace-of-mind.
Prior to becoming a claim manager, Linda was the owner and Managing Director of Farrell Insurance Brokers and Auctioneers in Athenry, Co. Galway for 20 years. Her unique blend of knowledge and experience provides her with an expert understanding of insurance policy wording and how to apply it. She takes the time to explain policy terms and important policy conditions to her clients to ensure they understand their cover, and provides valuable advice that helps her clients avoid underinsurance.
Linda takes pride in relieving the claim management burden and providing much needed support in the aftermath of a loss. She is a Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP) and a member of the Insurance Institute of Ireland. In her spare time Linda enjoys golf and is the current President of the Athenry Golf Club (2021).
Paul has extensive experience in claim management having commenced his career in 2003 with Mid-West Assessors Ltd. His long-term industry experience provides him with strong knowledge of policy wording and the ability to apply it to a variety of unique circumstances.
Paul understands the anxiety, stress and frustration that follows a loss and is dedicated to providing support that relieves his customers stress and puts their minds at ease. He handles all aspects of insurance claims from conducting the initial assessment and completing all the paperwork to liaising with the insurer and their loss adjuster to negotiate the optimum settlement under the terms of the customer’s policy.

Gary has extensive knowledge of the entire claim process and is an expert negotiator. He has served as a business development manager for more than 10 years and was responsible for successfully negotiating large contracts.
Gary understands the anxiety, stress, and frustration of dealing with an Insurance claim following a loss, and is committed to providing support to relieve customers’ stress and reassure them by handling all aspects such as conducting preliminary assessments, completing all paperwork, compiling & submitting the claim to liaising with all parties and negotiating the best possible claim settlement under the client’s insurance policy terms.
Gary holds a Certified Diploma in Loss Adjusting, Professional Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, a Diploma in Business Management, and a Law Degree from Queens University Belfast.
He is also a Member of Chartered Insurance Institute and Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters.
His experience, qualifications, and understanding of the claims process along with his excellent communication skills enable him to provide clients with a first class claims service.
Geraldine O’Sullivan is our Senior Claims Administrator, she is from Headford, Co. Galway & plays a critical role in Claims and Office Administration. She provides a quality and responsive service to all clients and supports Senior and Junior Loss Assessors while efficiently managing the complete claim process. Specialising in commercial and property claims, Geraldine also deals with legal and liability, motor and third party claims in the company.
She provides training and coaching to all administration staff to ensure a high quality service is maintained throughout the company.
Geraldine is from a financial background having worked for many years in the banking and property sectors.
Geraldine holds CIP and APA designations from the Insurance Institute of Ireland. She also holds qualifications in Auctioneering & Estate Agency and Accounting practices.
Kathleen has been with the company for over 25 years, has exceptional organisation skills and assists with our day-to-day activities to ensure our processes and functions run smoothly and efficiently. She provides crucial operations support to the CMG team across areas including customer service, administration and assistance to loss assessors.
Kathleen is highly customer focused, has excellent interpersonal skills and provides each client with an emphatic and efficient service.
Since joining the company as a Claims Assistant in 2020, Janice has been involved in many aspects of the company. She brings extensive knowledge and experience in customer service, having spent over 20 years in America as a HR manager & in a customer service role.
Janice works closely with our project management and reinstatement team. She provides a quality and responsive service to all clients while supporting Senior and Junior Loss Assessors, all while efficiently managing the complete claim process. Janice is an integral part of CMG, specialising in property claims and reinstatements.
Janice is currently studying to become a certified insurance practitioner to further develop her career at CMG.
Since joining the company as a Claims Assistant in 2022, Ciara has been an integral part of developing the Northern Ireland office. Ciara specialises in building good relationships with clients and third parties, ensuring a smooth process from beginning to end. Ciara also supports the CMG team across areas including office management, administration, providing assistance to Loss Assessors and liaising with Loss Adjusters and Insurance Companies.
Ciara uses her extensive customer service skills to provide an empathetic and responsive service by demonstrating her professional and proactive work ethic, dedication and commitment.
Ciara holds a foundation degree in Architectural Technology and is currently studying law part time. She has spent 3 years in Brisbane, Australia, where she worked in the hospitality industry.
Sharon Kennedy provides crucial operations support to the CMG team across areas including customer service, administration and assistance to loss assessors. She is also responsible for coordinating the Incident Management System for managing claims for sections of motorways.
Sharon has been with the company for 12 years and provides support to all CMG offices in Ireland and the UK. She is APA certified and currently working towards becoming a Certified Insurance Practitioner.
Since joining the company Sabrina, provides crucial support to clients throughout the claims process. She also supports the CMG team across areas including office management, administration, providing assistance to Loss Assessors and liaising with Loss Adjusters and Insurance Companies.
Sabrina’s focus is on developing a good relationship with clients and third parties ensuring a smooth process from beginning to end.
Karen Marriott has worked for the company for over 25 years and provides crucial support to clients throughout the claims process. Karen also supports the CMG team across areas including office management, and administration, providing assistance to Loss Assessors and liaising with Loss Adjusters and Insurance Companies.
